Age 59, of Wilmington, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2007, after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
Harvey was born in Carlisle, PA and moved to Delaware when he was very young. He was a graduate of Wilmington High School and attended Western Kentucky University before graduating from Goldey-Beacom College. He worked in the finance department for the DuPont Company at the Louviers site before retiring in 1995 after approximately 25 years of service.
He enjoyed collecting items such as figurines and commemorative plates and was an avid music fan appreciating all types, especially Motown. Harvey was happiest in his garden and received immense pleasure planting and growing a variety of flowers. Many will remember his passion for landscaping as it was not uncommon for him to spend hours working in his yard.
Harvey was predeceased by his father, Clarence Wilson Thomas. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Connolly & her husband Gavin, of Middletown, DE; his granddaughters, Hannah and Abigail; mother, Kathleen Critchley of NY; brothers, Donald Thomas & his wife, Nathalie of Middletown, DE and Henry Thomas & his wife Susan of Arizona;nieces, Angelique and Andrea and their families and his former spouse, Denise.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 14th at Nichols-Gilmore Funeral Home, 212 E.Justis St., Newport, where visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington.
