Age 90, of New Castle, DE, passed away on February 17, 2013 at Heartland Hospice House after a long illness.
Howard was a veteran of the United States Army Air Force, 96th Bombardment Group, 339th Bombardment Squadron and proudly served his country during World War II. He earned the Distinguished Flying Cross Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Air Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal.
Howard is survived by his wife, Pauline Marino Callaway; daughters, Elaine M. Hagan of Wilmington and Sandra L. Martin of New Castle; one brother, Herbert H. Callaway of Arcadia, FL; predeceased by 8 brothers and sisters. Grandchildren, Edward Sadowski of Newark, Wendy Hazewski (Joseph) of Wilmington, Christopher Callaway of New Castle and Shauna Hagan of Hockessin. 4 great grandchildren, Ashley, Nicholas, Mia and Joseph.
Graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, February 21 at Gracelawn Memorial Park, N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.
