Isabel K. "Izzy" Hanna, age 77, of Bear, DE, formally of Newport, DE, passed away peacefully at home in the presence of her family on Saturday, April 3, 2010.
Izzy enjoyed going to the beach, fishing, crabbing, boating and spending time at leisure Point Resort in Long Neck, DE. She loved to sew for family and friends, and most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Izzy's family would like to thank the Doctors and Staff at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center for their care.
Izzy was preceded in death by her husban of 29 years, Charles A. Hanna in 1979. She is survived by her children; Barbara Narvel (Chip), Chuck Hanna (Marie), Richard Hanna (Rosann) and Lisa Barrett; grandchildren, Edward Hackendorn, Amy Simione (David), Carrie Narvel, Doug Narvel, Eric Hanna (Kate), Amanda Hanna, Brandon Barrett, and Emily Barrett and great grandchildren; Sean Slattery, Isabel Hanna, Molly Hanna, Abby Simione and Ben Simione.
Funeral Services will be 11am on Saturday, April 10 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME 212 E. Justis St., Newport, where visitation will begin at 9:30am. Burial will be at St. James Episcopal Church Cemetery, Newport.
The family suggests contributions in Izzy's memory to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, team "Izzy Bells". Visit online relayforlife.org/middletownde and select izzy's Bells.
