Jack Weaver Jr.

d. October 31, 2024

Jack Weaver, a beloved father, fiancé, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2024, at the age of 68. Jack's courageous battle with cancer demonstrated his incredible strength and bravery. Surrounded by love, he was called home at Christiana Hospital, with his fiancée Robin and cherished friend Linda by his side.

Jack was an accomplished auto mechanic, earning many certifications throughout his career. His passion for automobiles extended beyond work; he had a profound love for owning, trading, purchasing, and building race cars. Jack was an enthusiastic participant and observer at drag racing events, with the Yellow Bullet Nationals held at Cecil County Drag Way being a particular favorite as well as Maple Grove and Englishtown.

For over a decade, Jack found a second home at Harold’s Brake & Service on Newport Gap Pike. This family-owned business not only employed him but embraced him as one of their own. Through this connection, Jack formed many dear friendships and professional relationships.

Harold’s was a neighborhood favorite, known for its late-night lights, signaling that Jack was hard at work on his latest project. Friends and colleagues often stopped by, greeted by the familiar sight of a party pizza takeout order on his toolbox, ready to share with anyone who was hungry. Many automotive and personal issues were solved around Jack’s scratch-off lotto-covered table, a testament to his problem-solving skills and supportive nature.

Jack was respected and trusted by his friends and others in the local automotive industry. His expertise and willingness to help others made him a pillar in the community.

In addition to his automotive pursuits, Jack was an avid pool player. He enjoyed participating in tournaments and competitions, showcasing his strategic mind and competitive spirit.

Jack had always been a thrill-seeker, and nothing made him feel more alive than cruising around on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. The roar of the engine beneath him, the wind rushing past, and the open road ahead provided a sense of freedom that was unparalleled.

Jack Weaver's legacy is one of passion, friendship, and unwavering dedication. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Jack Weaver Sr. and Jean Poore; and brother, Kenny Weaver Sr.

Survivors include his fiancée, Robin Foster; sons, Jason Weaver (Roni), PJ Weaver (Tiffany), Brandan Weaver (Meagan) and Steven Ponte (Stephanie); brothers, Jeff Weaver (Liz) and Chuck Guessford (Mary); sisters, Kathy Drennen, Kimberly Weaver-Williams (Joe) and Krissy Childress; five grandchildren; and caregiver, Linda Wood.
