Age 89, of Elkton, MD, formerly of Newark, DE, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2009.
Jake retired from Dupont in 1982 after 20 years as an electrical engineer and also worked for the UofD for many years as electrical engineer. He was an Army Air Force veteran during WWII and enjoyed square dancing for 40 years with the 2 X 4's and Castle Squares.
Jake was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Lucille "Lou" Grube, in 2008. Survivors include his sons, John & wife Nancy of Bear, DE; Paul & wife Lorraine of Elkton, MD; and James also of Elkton; his daughter, Mary Louise Long & husband Chuck of VA; 1 sister, Mary Brown of Chicago, IL; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11am, Tuesday, April 7th, at St. Thomas More Oratory, 45 Lovett Ave., Newark, where visitation will begin at 10am. Interment will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, DE.
