James A. "Duck" Deputy, Jr., age 59, of Wilmington DE, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 21, 2014.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and National Guard of Delaware. Duck was an employee of Safe Rite and had previously worked for Blue Chip and Shop Rite. He was a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Local # 27 of Newark. Duck was a member of the Blue Hens Bowling League and the Pleasant Hills Bowling League. He enjoyed bowling, throwing horseshoes, fishing, camping, cooking and enjoyed the horse races at Delaware Park.
He was preceeded in death by his father, James Arthur Deputy, Sr. Duck is survived by his three daughters, Lindsay Deputy (Chuck Williams), Gail Taylor (Christopher Taylor) and Mary Deputy; his mother, Edna E. Deputy; a step son, Ricky Crossan Jr.; two brothers, Roy and Ronnie Deputy; three sisters, Patti Atkins, Edna Caudill and Jackie Maykut; two granddaughters, Autumn and Paige and a grandson, CJ; several nieces and nephews; and his companion Maryann Martin.
