James England

James L. England, age 83, of Townsend, DE, born and raised near Kennett Square, PA, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024.

Jim graduated from Kennett Square High School in 1958. He was a proud member of the United States National Guard. Jim worked for Dupont at the Experimental Station as a member of the Lab Team for over 35 years.

Jim loved sports especially the Philadelphia Phillies and the Philadelphia Eagles. He also enjoyed woodworking, building models, leather engraving and bowling.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents Leroy and Treva; sisters, Janet Baccino and Kathryn England; brother, Robert England; and niece, Jackie England.

Survivors include his former spouse, Sara England; sons, Jim England (Charlene Cox) and Thomas England; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Nichols-Gilmore Funeral Home, 212 East Justis Street Newport, DE 19804, where visitation will begin at Noon.

The family would like to thank the Delaware State Police Troop 9 in Odessa. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to support the Delaware State Police.
