James R. Herd, age 78, of Wilmington, formerly of Parkesburg, PA passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018.
Jim worked for General Motors for over 30 years before retiring in 2002. He was a member of the Local Union 435, Armstrong Masonic lodge #26 and the St. Anthony Senior Center.
Jim is survived by his wife of 48 years, Theresa; his daughters, Bernadette McMilin and Brenda Herd; 4 sisters; 4 grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
A viewing will begin at 10 am followed by a funeral service at 11 am on Wednesday, September 26, at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St., Newport, DE 19804. Burial will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jim’s memory can be made to the VFW 475, 100 Veterans Drive, Newark, DE 19711.
