Age 83, a resident of Hillside Center for the past 9 years and formerly of Woodcrest, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2009.
Jane was a sales clerk at the Uniform Shop on Orange St. for many years. She enjoyed reading & sewing and was a devoted Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan.
Jane was the wife, of 53 years, to the late Joseph J. McGovern; the daughter of the late Ella & Harvey Vandegrift; and a sister of the late Beverly Nickle and Dr. Harvey Vandergrift. Survivors include her nieces and nephew; Jacqueline Donovan & Pearce Vandegrift both of Columbia, MD; Robin George of Ooltewah, TN; and Jane L. Nickle of Newark, DE.
Funeral services will be 12:30 pm, Monday, June 15th at Nichols-Gilmore Funeral Home, 212 E. Justis St., Newport, DE, where visitation will begin at noon.
Burial will be at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, DE.
The family suggests contributions in Jane's memory to the National Parkinson's Disease Foundation, Inc., 1501
