Bear - Jeff, age 49, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018
Jeff was a 1987 graduate of Wilmington High School before attending the University of Delaware. He has worked at DART the past 28 years and was currently the Deputy Chief Operating Officer. Jeff was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church. He was a Philadelphia sports fan. Jeff enjoyed woodworking and going to Ocean City, New Jersey.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Howard Gropp and stepfather, Willis Green.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Denise Gropp; his mother, Linda Green (Ralph Jamison); his sister, Kimberly Gropp (David Yeatman); his brother, Jonathan Gropp; his nieces, Ashley McMahon and Kelly Gonzalez (Ruben), his nephews, Timothy McMahon and Joseph Megginson, Jr. (Corey); his grand niece, Rosie Gonzalez; his sisters in law, Michelle Williams and Lisa Megginson (Joseph, Sr.) and his dog, Bailey.
Funeral Services will be 12 noon on Wednesday, April 18 at CALVARY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 701 S Maryland Ave, Wilmington, DE 19804 where visitation will begin at 11 am. Visitation will also be held from 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday, April 17 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 East Justis Street, Newport, DE 19804. Burial will be private.
Jeff's family would like to thank Dr. Martin and the staff at Medical Oncology and Hematology Consultants for their loving care.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jeff's memory can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 1300 N. Grant Avenue Suite 100, Wilmington, DE 19806.
