John L. Lowther, age 97, of Newport, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2020.
Jack was an Army Airforce veteran, serving in WWII in North Africa and Italy. He was an avid University of Delaware football and Phillies baseball fan.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Lorraine Lowther; and sisters, Margaret White and Eleanor Moore.
Survivors include his daughters, Terri L. Roach (Michael), Pamela Blansfield Howard (Tom) and Blanche Speaker; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Due to the Covid-19 outbreak funeral services will be held privately at 11:30 am on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St. Newport, DE 19804 where visitation will begin at 10:30 am. The gathering will be limited to 10 people. Burial will follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery. After the funeral services takes place, a link to the recording will be available here on nicholsgilmore.com to watch the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jack’s memory may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 405 E Marsh Ln #4, Newport, DE 19804
