John A. McKnight, Jr. , age 77, of New Castle, De passed quietly away on Sunday, June 15, 2014.
John was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was awarded the Army of Occupation of Germany medal.
John was a heavy equipment operator with Greggo and Ferrara prior to his retirement in 2007. He was a member of the Christiana Presbyterian Church and the New Castle Moose Lodge.
He enjoyed fishing with his wife, Dora, going to Sedona, AZ and the Great Canyon and other "scenic" attractions, He enjoyed watching classic movies, including Charlie Chan movies.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John A. McKnight, Sr and Iona McKnight; his first wife, Janice McKnight. He is survived by his wife, Dora L. McKnight of 10 years; and by his children and grandchildren.
At the request of his family, all services are private and held at the convenience of the family.
