John Mullin

May 22, 1958 — November 4, 2010

Age 52, of Clayton, formerly of Newark, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2010, at home in the presence of his family.

John has worked the past 21 years at the A.I. Du Pont Children's Hospital where he was the facilities manager. He was a member of St. Polycarp's R.C. Church where he was a former Head of the Parish Council and was a active member of the Knights of Columbus, Brother Vincent Council. John was a dedicated "FEIS" dad. He was a member of the Cole-Younger Band and enjoyed "jammin' with his boy's" in his Florida room. John enjoyed playing ice hockey and renovating his home known as "Our Old House".

John was preceded in death by his brother Bobby on November 13, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Margaret "Maggie" Mullin; children, Derrik, John J. III, Shannon, Bernadette and Taryn; grandson, Derrik Jr; parents, Sue and John Mullin, Sr; sisters and brothers, Connie Murphy (Kevin), Kerry (Linda), Jane Mullin, William (Karla), Jim (Maria), Greg (Wendy), Paul (Betty Ann), Susan Thomas (Stuart) and Amy Mullin Whittington; sister-in-law, Lennis Mullin; many adored nieces and nephews and his loving mother-in-law, brother-in-law and sister's in-law on his wife's side of the family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Friday, November 12th at Holy Angels Church, 82 Possum Park Road, Newark where visitation will begin at 10 am. Visitation will also be held at the Church on Thursday evening from 5 to 8 pm. Burial will be at All Saints Cemetery, Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions in John's memory to the Mullin children's education fund at any Dexsta Federal Credit Union branch.
