Age 77, of Bluffton, SC, formerly of Wilmington, DE, died on January 21, 2013 at Hospice Savannah.
John was born on January 9, 1936 in Wilmington, DE to John W. Narvel and Anna Grace (Walker) Narvel. He was a 1955 graduate of Henry C. Conrad HS and attended the University of Delaware. He served in the U.S. Army. John was employed by Wm D. Shellady, Inc. for 35 years. A lifetime resident of DE, he and his wife retired to SC in 2003. John was a long-time supporter of local youth and high school sports. He also enjoyed attending University of Delaware athletic events.
John is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol (Peterson) Narvel; sons John of Wilmington, DE and James (Donna) of St. Louis, MO; and granddaughter, Ava Narvel. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Nancy N. Bolling of Denver, CO.
A funeral service will be at 10AM on Tuesday, February 5 at St. JAMES EPISCOPAL CHURCH, 2 S. Augustine St., Newport. Burial will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle.
