John T. "Poppy" Pawley, 72, of Wilmington passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 25,2013.
John was a retired heater mechanic with the former Diamond Oil Company. He enjoyed his country music especially George Jones.
He was preceded in death by a son, John T. Pawley, Jr. John is survived by his wife, Esther Ann Jones Pawley, four sons, Robert L Bryant, Jr. (and his wife, Donna); Joseph Pawley (and his wife, Tracy), William Pawley (companion of Josie Constenini) and Thomas Pawley; one daughter, Brenda Bryant; nine grandchildren, Robert III, Danielle, Joseph, William Jr. , John, Markiemarie, John, Vincent and Adam; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Pawley (husband of Patsy) and one sister, Lucielle Pawley Walstrum (and her husband, Ronald).
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Nichols-Gilmore Funeral Home, 212 East Justis St, Newport DE where visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be private.
