John passed away on Monday, August 31, 2015. He graduated from Tower Hill School in 1944 and was a 1950 graduate of Philadelphia College of Pharmacy. John was the owner of Pollard's Pharmacy in Newark for 30 years before retiring in 1988. He was a WWII Navy veteran and was a past member of Grace Episcopal Church where he served on the Vestry.
John was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Patricia M. "Pat" Pollard on May 21, 2015. He is survived by his children, Terry W. Hicks (Suzanne) of Winchester, VA, Linda P. Whiteside of Newark, DE, John Pollard of Elkton, MD and David Pollard of Georgetown, DE; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be at 12 noon on Friday, September 4 at Grace Episcopal Church, 4900 Concord Pike. Burial Will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate contributions in John's memory to either Grace Episcopal Church, 4900 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803 or Resurrection Parish, 3000 Videre Drive, Wilmington, DE 19808.
