John G. Snyder, age 63, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2011.
John was a Vietnam War veteran having served in Thailand. He was a heavy equipment operator for Roser Construction and previously worked at B&O and later CSX Railroads. John was a fan of NASCAR.
John was preceded in death by a son, Matt Snyder in 1991, his parents, William and Laura Snyder; sisters, Joan Matz, Patricia Pavloski, Ione Perrine, Eunice Walls and Betty Lee Ainsworth; and brothers, Joseph Snyder, Ronald Snyder and James Snyder.
John is survived by his wife, Paula Snyder; son, John G. Snyder, II and his wife, Sheri; brothers and sisters, Samuel Snyder, Delores Karawulan, Jackie Doughton, Linda Hope Butts, Geraldine Brown, Lawrence Snyder, Douglas Snyder, Jeanette Markessinis and Robert Snyder; as well as many stepchildren and step grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 6pm on Thursday, July 14 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St., Newport, where visitation will begin at 5pm. Burial with military honors will be 11am on Friday, July 15 in the chapel at Delaware Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
