Johnny Wilkes

Johnny Melvin Wilkes, “Tree Top” age 68, of Wilmington, formerly of Newark, went on to glory on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.

Tree Top was an Army Veteran. He enjoyed music and dancing. And had an outgoing personality and was a free spirit.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda and brothers, Eddie and Randall

Survivors include his daughter, Patricia Barnard; mother, Patricia Williams, granddaughter, Gia-Nicole Barnard; siblings, Vivian, Harriett, Kathy, James, Willie and Curtis; niece, Doreda; and cousins who he raised and other extended family.

Funeral Services will be at 11 am on Friday, December 13 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis Street, Newport, DE 19804 where visitation will begin at 10 am. Burial will follow at 1 pm at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Tree Top’s memory may be made to assist with the funeral expenses.
