Age 68 of New Castle, DE passed away Friday, December 9, 2011.
Jorge was born in Humacao, P.R. He worked at the Wilmington Housing Authority until his retirement in 2005. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gumercinda Pacheco-Diaz and Juan Diaz.
Survivors include his children, Dayra E.Ortiz and her husband Wilfredo of Bear; Jackelyn Arocho and her husband Eddie of Wilmington;George Diaz of Wilmington;and Maria Cristina Hernandez and her husband Hiram of FL; 9 grandchildren, Edwardo Diaz, Antonio Perez, Miguel Perez, Jordan Ortiz, Selena Ortiz, Edwin Quinones, Jr. and Brenda Quinones of FL; Erica Rosenior of UK;and step-granddaughter, Emmaluz Ortiz of DE; 5 great granddaughters;his brothers, Juan Diaz, Jr., Angel Diaz, Jose Enrique Diaz, David Diaz, and his sister, Ana Lydia Diaz.
Services will be 6:00 p.m., Thursday, December 15th, at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St., Newport, DE where visitation will follow at 7:00 p.m.
Burial will be private.
