Jose Miguel Prado, age 59, of Newport, formerly of West Chester, transitioned on Saturday, November 30, 2024.
Jose was a graduate of Henderson High School in West Chester and received his Associates Degree in Music from West Chester University. He retired from the City of Wilmington Fire Department after over 20 years of service as a firefighter. He also was a former constable at Wilmington Hospital and a Mason.
Jose enjoyed the firing range, fishing, horses and music, especially playing his trumpet. He loved his country and vacationing in Puerto Rico.
Jose is survived by his sister, Milagros Ortiz; his brothers, Angelo Prado and Angel Santos and other extended family.
Funeral Services will be at 1 pm at CATALYST COMMUNITY CHURCH, 410 Denver Road, Wilmington, DE 19804 where visitation will begin at 12 pm. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery.

José se graduó de Henderson High School en West Chester y recibió su título de asociado en música de la Universidad de West Chester. Se retiró del Departamento de Bomberos de la Ciudad de Wilmington después de más de 20 años de servicio como bombero. También fue Condestable y Mason en el Hospital de Wilmington. A José le gustaba el Rango de tiro, la pesca, los caballos y la música, especialmente tocando su trompeta. Amaba a su país y vacacionar en Puerto Rico. A José le sobreviven su hermana, Milagros Ortiz; sus hermanos, Ángel Prado y Ángel Santos; y otros familiares.
Los servicios funerarios serán a la 1 pm en CATALYST COMMUNITY CHURCH, 410 Denver Road, Wilmington, DE 19804, donde las visitas comenzarán a las 12 pm. El entierro seguirá en el Cementerio de Todos los Santos.
