Joyce Farmer

Joyce died on Monday, March 7, 2016 at her home. She was letter carrier for the United States Postal Service, retiring in 2009 after 28 years of service. She had also worked at Food Lion in Bear. Joyce was a member of Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church and the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch #4015. She considered herself a "Gypsy Traveler", visiting Gardens and National Parks and her family throughout the country. Joyce enjoyed genealogy research, reading, particularly mysteries and science fiction, knitting, baking, especially Christmas cookies and cooking often using ingredients from Jerry's garden.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of nearly 17 years, Jerry; her children, Robert H. Fehrman (April), Brian J. Fehrman (Keri), Benjamin M. Fehrman and William P. Fehrman; her step children, James D. Farmer (Dawn) and Patricia Farmer; her grandchildren, Brian Jr., Steven, Robert, Caitlyn, Calvin, Sebastian, David, James Jr. and Michael; her great grandchildren, Peyton, Connor and William; her brother, Lynn F. Bellinger, III and her sisters, Jayne L. Shiell, Susan B. Hill and Sharon B. Ruot.

A Memorial Service will be 2 PM on Tuesday, March 15 at Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church where a luncheon will follow. Burial was private.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate contributions in Joyce's memory to the Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, 230 Christiana Rd., New Castle, DE 19720.
