Karen M Hart (nee) Miller, age 75, of Newark, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at St Francis Hospital after a long illness.
In the 60s Karen worked as a legal secretary for Prickett & Prickett for several years, until her daughter Cheryl was born in 1969. In the 70s Karen co-owned/operated the parts dept of K & B Racing & Speed Shop near Prices Corner. She also helped on many racing events for a new 1970 class "Pro Stock". Their Maverick ran on the record. The speed Shop also had a couple drag Boats.. She kept them lookin' good.
In 1980 Karen formed a house cleaning service "Swept Away", later changing it to Karen Hart and Daughters. In 2001, with her husband Brian, she helped build and maintain an award winning "51 Ford" Pick-up, street rod she named "Hart's Delight". She also assisted in restoration of 2 Police cars: Newport PD 1970 Fury and a Del City PD 69 Fury.
Karen loved her flower garden and her green thumb proved it. She kept the grounds, looking beautiful.
She was predeceased by her father, Carl A Miller; her mother, Elizabeth a Miller and her brother, Karl A Miller.
Karen is survived by her husband of 57 years, Brian Lee Hart; her daughters, Denise K. Carpenter and Cheryl A. Kimble; her grandchildren, Stephen B. Carpenter and Nicholas M. Kimble; and her beloved dog named Angel, who she adored.
