June 26, 1935 — September 30, 2010

Age 75, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family, on Thursday, September 30, 2010. After a courageous battle she went home to be with the Lord.

Kitty was born in Smyrna, DE June 26, 1935. She lived in Newport before moving to Bradenton, FL in 1989. She moved back to Newark during her illness to be home with her beloved children, family and friends. She was a member of the Richardson Park United Methodist Church and The First Church of the Nazarene of Florida.

Kitty spent most of her life as a homemaker and devoted mother raising 5 children. She always enjoyed playing 500 Rummy with family and friends, loved to dance and had a passion in caring for her beloved, beautiful, flower garden shared by her children. Generous and compassionate, Kitty's never ending love for her family and friends was evident throughout her life. She was always willing to lend her help to those in need.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Idella M. Tucker-Everett and father, Harry T. Everett; her son, Norman Gravatt; her husbands Herman W. Gravatt and Joseph L. Strouth; and her sister, Mary Cluesman. She is survived by her sons, Robert W. Gravatt, Eugene H. Gravatt and Len C. Gravatt; daughters, Kathleen J. DeRocili and Pamela L. Ott; 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; brothers, Bill Everett, Donald Everett, Larry Everett and George Everett; sisters, Idella Hughes, Alice Sartin, Thelma Ackers, Peggy Gillispie, Ruth Shumaker and Diane Schaffer.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all those assisting Kitty throughout her illness.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service Friday, October 8th at 11 a.m., in the Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel, N. Dupont Pkwy., New Castle, where visitation will begin at 10am.
