Laurie Guajardo

Laurie M Guajardo,76, of Hockessin , DE, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at Christiana hospital. She was the daughter of the late Turner Sheppard and Mary McLaurin, as well as the sister of Marianne Finnigan, and brother Hugh McLaurin. She was predeceased by her husband Charles Guajardo. Laurie is survived by her 3 children: son Christopher Stausebach, daughter Lee Ann Reburn and daughter Amy Stausebach. She also had 2 grandchildren, Emily and Evan Reburn.

Laurie attended University of Tennessee until the birth of her son Christopher. She later in adulthood obtained her degree from Wilmington University. She worked for New Castle County Personnel Dept. Later in life, she ran a pet sitting business with her daughter Amy until Amy moved to Arizona, then Laurie ran it solo.

Laurie was baptized at First Baptist Church in Silver Spring, MD in Nov of 1957. She was currently an active member of her church, Good News in Hockessin, DE. She most recently lived at the independent living facility, The Summit, and made fast friends and attended activities with some of the members there.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, August 22 at Good News Church, 957 Old Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 19707 where visitation will begin at 10 am. Burial will be private.
