Age 92 of Wilmington, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2011, five days before his 93 birthday.
Leonard was the longest serving member of Local #74 Pipefitters Union where he had been a member since 1940.He was a Sgt.in the Army during WWII serving mainly in Germany.He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved spending time with his family and friends.Leonard loved dancing, boating, the beach and singing, especially to his granddaughter, Alexa Jeanne.He was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan.
Leonard was preceded in death by his first wife Jeanne in 1977; his second wife Grace in 2003 and his brother Francis. He was a loving father & grandfather and is survived by his daughter JoAnn Deery & her husband Richard; his son Charles L. Rash & his wife Michelle;his sister, Dorothy Nash;5 grandchildren, Laura D. Asteris, Jordon Rash, Ian Rash, Tyler Rash and Alexa Jeanne; his step grandson, Joseph Wicks; and his great granddaughter, Lily.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, May 21st at the Chapel in Gracelawn Memorial Park, N. Dupont Hwy., New Castle, where visitation will begin at
10a.m.
The family suggests contributions in Leonard's memory to Disabled American Veterans, c/o of the Veterans Center, 1601 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, DE 19808.
