Age 87, of Newport, formerly a resident of Seaford, DE and Berwyn, PA, passed away, on Monday, June 6, 2011.
Lewis had a distinguished career as Superintendent of Philadelphia Suburban Water for 33 years, until his retirement in 1985, and as a WWII Army veteran of the 977th Field Artillery Battalion, the allied landing at Anzio beach and the liberation of Europe.
He was a member of Peniel United Methodist Church, in Newport, DE and Wyoming United Methodist Church, in Camden, DE; a member of Masonic Community Lodge 744 in Broomall, PA;and the Lulu Temple Shriner's in Plymouth Meeting, PA.
>> Lewis was the beloved husband of Sarah S. "Sally" Scott; devoted father to Gary E. Scott (Kathryn) and Sarah Beth Orchinik (Carlton); dear brother to Jeanette, Eugene, Richard, Ernest, James, Joyce and Robert; and loving grandfather to David, Stuart, Leah and Julia .
Services will be 11am, Saturday, June 25th, at St. Mark's UMC, 2220 Sproul Rd., Broomall, PA. Burial will be private.
