Linda L. Green, age 78, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 6, 2025.
Linda was a graduate of Henry C. Conrad High School and Goldey-Beacom College. She worked for D.A.R.T. in the business office and later retired from the accounting business she started with her daughter. Linda was an active member of Calvary Presbyterian Church and volunteered at the Seamen’s Center. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, dining out and socializing. “Mernie” was known for her witty sarcasm and was an avid Phillies fan.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Green; son, Jeffrey Gropp; and brother, Wayne Ashley.
Linda is survived by her partner of 10 years and high school classmate, Ralph Jamison and his daughter, Patricia Atwood (Ed) and their daughter, Lilly; her children, Kimberly Gropp (late companion David Yeatman), Jonathan Gropp (James Bennett) and Denise Gropp; her brother, James Ashley (Judith); her grandchildren, Ashley McMahon and Timothy McMahon; her granddog, Bailey; 2 nieces and 3 nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, January 14 at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 701 S. Maryland Ave, Wilmington, DE 19804 where visitation will begin at 12:30 pm. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Linda’s memory may be made to Calvary Presbyterian Church, 701 S. Maryland Ave, Wilmington, DE 19804.
