Age 78, of Newark, DE, died suddenly on, Thursday, December 6, 2007.
“Pie” worked in maintenance at the Independence School for 15 years.He previously worked at the Hagley Museum, Kennett Consolidated School District and owned a carpet cleaning business. He was a Navy Veteran where he traveled the world. He enjoyed horseback riding, boating & fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, of 26 years, Jolene Graves, on October 22, 2007. Survivors include his children, David Hicks; Marlene Graves; Marcia Broadway & her husband Walter; Loile Graves, III;
Secrea Foley; Erica Graves and Marissa Graves; 2 stepchildren, Joseph Jones & James Jones; a sister, Ann Glasgow; many grandchildren & a great grandchild; nieces, nephews; aunts, Ruth Johnson and Virginia Whitaker; and cousins, including Leonard and Alice Hopkins.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, December 15, 2007, at Nichols-Gilmore Funeral Home, 212 E. Justis St., Newport, DE where visitation will begin at 9:30 am. Interment will be private.
