Lois W. Nichols Rodeck

AGE: 94 • Formerly of Newport

Lois passed away on Friday, December 9, 2016 in Petersburg, VA, where she had resided the past few years.

Lois worked for the DuPont Co Downtown for 35 years in Accounts Payable, retiring in 1987, She was born in Federalsburg, MD the daughter of late Lee and Emma Nichols. Lois was raised in Newport, growing up in her family's Funeral Home. She was a 1940 graduate of Conrad High School. Lois was a member of local Senior Centers where she enjoyed going on their trips. She also enjoyed many trips to the areas of Rehoboth DE and Ocean City, MD. Lois loved and cared for her Dachshund dogs for over 60 years. In her later years she enjoyed living at The Petersburg Home for Ladies, where all the Ladies and staff cared for her in the same loving manner she cared for them. Lois's keen mind and spirit were with her for her entire life.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years, Harry O. Rodeck in 1988; her sisters, Joanne Evans, Barbara Gardner and Betty Woods, and her brother, Earl V. Nichols, Sr., all of whom she cared for them, their spouses and families very much.

Lois is survived by her son and daughter in law, Doug and Doris Rodeck; and numerous nephews and nieces including Barbara and Michael Queen who have assisted her many times throughout the years.

Funeral Services will be 12 noon on Friday, December 16 at her family's funeral home, NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St., Newport, DE, 19804, where visitation will begin at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery.
