Age 97, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 9, 2013.
Mabel was the longest living member of Red Clay Creek Presbyterian Church. She was an 80 year member of the Harmony Grange and was a member of the DAR. Until last year Mabel made comfort bears and pillows for different Hospices and Kent General Hospital.
Mabel was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, William "Barney" Narvel in 1975 and by her 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Survivors include her children, Karen Torrance (Bill Ross), Chip Narvel (Barbara) and Jeff Narvel (Christine Hogan); her sister, Twila Parker; her grandchildren, Michael Torrance, Reta Tucker, Eddie Hackendorn, Ami Simione, Jeffrey Narvel, Carrie Narvel and Doug Narvel; and her great grandchildren, Megan, Ashley, Katie, Michael, Sean, Abby, Ben and Rawlin.
Graveside services will be 1PM on Monday, January 14 at Red Clay Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 500 McKennans Church RD.
The family wishes to thank the loving caregivers from Comfort Keepers and Seasons Hospice.
