The Angels took Makayla Home suddenly on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at the age of 16.
Makayla just completed her sophomore year at Delcastle High School where she was proud to be studying technical drafting. She was a member of the student council, the National Honor Society, and ACE mentoring. Makayla was also a “Give Back” scholar. She loved animals, especially her cats.
Makayla was preceded in death by her PopPop, John Dembkowski, and her grandmothers, Deborah Budynkiewicz, Debbie DiMauro, and Anna Petrucci.
Survivors include her mother, Lindsey Hanley and her stepfather, Andrew Hanley; her sister, Madison Hanley; her uncle, Patrick Dembkowski, Jr; her aunts, Amber and Ashley Fedorkowicz; her aunt, Tanya Hollinger; her grandparents, Patrick and JoAnne Dembkowski, John and Barbara Hinckle, Joe Petrucci and Dawn Marie; and other extended family and friends.
Funeral Services will be at 1 PM on Friday, June 15 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 EAST JUSTIS STREET., NEWPORT, DE 19804 where visitation will begin at 12 noon. Visitation will also be held from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, June 14 at Nichols-Gilmore Funeral Home. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Makayla’s memory can be made to Nichols-Gilmore Funeral Home to assist with the funeral expenses.
