Margaret Gagnon

d. November 7, 2024

It is with deep sadness, we announce the passing of our sweet sister Margaret E. “Maggie” Gagnon (Hardy). She peacefully passed away, surrounded by her loving sisters, on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at the age of 74. She was the eldest Child born to the late Charles G. Hardy, Sr. and Mildred C. Hardy (Brack).

Maggie attended Brown Technical School before transferring to DeLaWarr High School. After graduating Maggie tried many different occupations but the one she loved the most was being a full time Nanny, I guess taking care of her 5 siblings prepared her for that job.

Maggie loved traveling throughout the USA, California, Grand Canyon, Hawaii and also Yellowstone, where she took our parents. She also enjoyed painting, watching YouTube videos of Keith Urbans music, going to Delaware Park for a cup of crab soup and tossing a few coins in a slot machine. She always had her door opened and would welcome everyone that came by. Maggie enjoyed talking to her neighbors and would take the Marydale bus to different eateries nearby. She also would travel to Rehoboth and ride her scooter along the boardwalk watching the sandpiper and the high waves.

She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and many of the physicians, nurses and aids that helped with her care.

Maggie is survived by her sisters, G Gail Yandoli, Mary Ann DeFeo and Linda R. Mitchell. She is also survived by Aunts, Bea Elwood and Ruth Shatley; and Uncles, Marion Brack and Paul Hardy; and many nieces & nephews.

A Celebration of life will be held privately at a later date.
