Age 88, a life long resident of Wilmington, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2007.
Marian was a homemaker and an active member of St. James Episcopal Church in Millcreek where she served on the Alter Guild. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels with her late husband, Jim, and enjoyed bowling at Pleasant Hills Lanes.
Marian's family wish to thank the staff of Millcroft for the dedicated care they gave to her for the past 14 years.
Marian was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, James M.Shorts, Jr., who passed away in 2003 and her granddaughter, Heather N. Wojdak, who passed away in 1975. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marcia A. and Paul W. Jenkins, of Wilmington.
Funeral services will be 11:30 am, Wednesday, April 25th at St. James Episcopal Church, 2106 St. James Church Rd., Millcreek Hundred. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11 am on Wednesday at Nichols-Gilmore Funeral Home, 212 E. Justis St. Newport, DE.
The family suggests contributions in Marian's memory to the American Stroke Association, 1096 Old Churchman's Rd., Newark, DE 19713.
