Martha F. Lawhorn, age 94, of Newport, formerly of Oak Hill, West Virginia, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2020.
Martha remained active and vibrant until recent years. She enjoyed watching horse racing at Delaware Park. Martha was very compassionate and humble and loved the Twilight movies and Criminal Minds.
Martha was the last of 15 children of the late William and Mary Lena Nunn. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Clinton Lawhorn in 1985; her daughter, Linda Burridge, and son, David Lawhorn.
Survivors include her sons, Thomas E. Lawhorn (Irene), Clinton W. Lawhorne, and James Lawhorn (Colleen); her daughters, Angela Cartwright and Mary Banack (Stanley); her son-in-law, Tom Burridge; daughter-in-law, Debbie Lawhorn; 20 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Due to the Covid19 pandemic, a Celebration of Life for Martha will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Martha’s memory may be made to the Salvation Army, 400 N Orange St, Wilmington, DE 19801 or the Sunday Breakfast Mission, 110 Poplar St, Wilmington, DE 19801
