After a long illness, on Saturday, July 2, 2016 we lost our Captain America, Matthew A. Farren, after a valiant fight.
Matthew, of Wilmington, attended Christiana High School, graduating in June of 1979. He then worked as a carpenter in the Wilmington area for 25 years.
He loved Eagles football, fishing, and music. He was a talented musician and was a singer with several local bands.
Matthew was preceded in death by his parents, Edward F. Farren and Patricia A. Farren.
He is survived by his longtime companion and the love of his life of 12 years, Carmen Quinones; stepchildren, Becky, Ruthy, Michael, Jessica, and Elizabeth; 5 grandchildren; brother, Eddie Farren (Missy); sister, Patty Feeney (John) and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 4PM on Friday, July 8, 2016 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 East Justis Street, Newport, Delaware 19804 where visitation will begin at 3PM.
Matthew’s family requests that anyone coming to the service wear green or eagles attire in Matthew’s honor.
