Matthew J. Wertz, age 30, of New Castle, left this earth to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 19, 2019.
Matt attended William Penn High School. He was a team member at Shake Shack for the past few years. Matt loved sports, especially the Philadelphia Eagles. Matt will be remembered for his genuineness, good spirit and great sense of humor.
Survivors include his parents, Dennis and Dianne Wertz; his sister, Holly Wertz; and other extended family.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm on Monday, August 27 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 East Justis Street, Newport, DE 19804 where visitation will begin at 1pm. Burial will be private.
