Michel “Mickie” Childress Burris, age 48, of New Castle, went to be with The Lord on Sunday, June 4, 2017.
Mickie graduated from New Castle Baptist Academy. She enjoyed doing crafts, riding motorcycles, and poetry. She loved all animals, especially her cats and horses.
Mickie was preceded in death by her father, Roy Childress and her brother, Allen Childress.
Survivors include her husband of 14 years, Leonard Burris; her children, Anthony Ackerman and Amber Ackerman; her mother, Margaret Wilkinson; and her siblings, Phyllis Childress and Roy E. Childress.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME where visitation will begin at 1pm.
Burial will be private.
