Millicent M. “Millie” Dobbin, age 79, of New Castle, formerly of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 10, 2019.
Millie attended Howard High School, formerly #29. She was a member of Temple of Praise Worldwide. Millie was a housewife who enjoyed playing cards, going to bingo, cooking and entertaining her family and friends. She would feed anyone who was hungry and if they needed a place to stay, her house was always open. Millie’s love was truly unconditional and heartfelt. She always gave sound advice without judging anyone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ethel Selby; her father and mother in law, Carrie and James Dobbin; her siblings, Lillian, Junie, William, Alice and John Selby, Ruth Simpson, Sarah Jenkins, Marion Black, Lottie Gordon, Shirley Jordan and James Dobbin Jr.
Millicent leaves to cherish her husband of 48 years, Thomas G. Dobbin; her sons, Franklin Clayton (Nancy) and Terrence “Keith” Clayton; her daughters, Sonya Clayton, Desiree Forehand (Terrence) and Diane Palmer (Goldie); her sisters, Jacqeline and Dorothy Selby, Sarah Leach, Gloria and Carolyn Dobbin; her grandchildren Lamar, Franklin “Swanny”, Kim, Terri, Keena, Franklin Jr “CJ”, Kenyal, Terrence “Biz”, Danyel, Kiara, Terrence “Lil Keith”, Downesha, Isaiah, Dominique, Tyrone, Jamal, Dow Jr ; and a host of great grandchildren and very close extended family.
Funeral Services will begin at 11 am on Friday, August 16 at Temple of Praise Worldwide, 89 Christiana Road, New Castle, DE 19720 where visitation will begin at 9 am. Burial will follow in Silverbrook Cemetery.
