Minta Suann Gibbons, age 69, of Claymont, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 9, 2024.
Minta graduated from Concord High School and then moved to Tennessee to attend Lamburth College in Memphis, Tennessee. She worked most of her life as a waitress and later in life became a server with Sodexo, where she retired.
Minta was a lifetime member of the Women's VFW. She enjoyed cooking, thrifting, beach trips with her family, attending concerts, being a member of the PTA, and being an amazing mother and wife.
Minta is preceded in death by her parents, Wescomb R. Jones and Nina Sue Jones, and her stepmom, Gay C. Jones. Minta is survived by her husband of 34 years, John P. Gibbons; her three children, Dominic Butler, John Wescomb Gibbons, Amy M. Gibbons and her fiancé Israel; brother, Wescomb M. Jones and his wife Tracy; sister, Ransley Jones; and eight grandchildren.
