Nelson A. "Thomas" Garrett age 83 of Newport, formerly of Brooklyn, NY, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013.
Thomas was a superintendent of the Shakespearean Theater in Manhattan. He also served as a Merchant Marine transporting Army & Navy troops into Germany. Thomas enjoyed antique cars, classical music, reading old books and watching vintage movies. Thomas is the last of 4 brothers; he was also preceded in death by a daughter Kimberly Guiss and nephew, Bobby Garrett.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Geraldine; children, Debra Atanasyan, Lynn Catherine Garrett, Lori Garrett Baron, Mark Garrett and David Garrett.; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, June 27th at Peniel United Methodist Church, 115 E. Market St., Newport, DE where visitation will begin at 1:30. Burial will be private.
