Pauline Gerheiser

d. October 31, 2024

Pauline Jacqueline Gerheiser (nee Blais) of Millsboro, Delaware, passed from this earth on Thursday, October 31, 2024 after a long fight with cancer. Pauline was 93 years of age at the time of her passing.

Beloved wife of Fred M. Gerheiser (deceased in 2014) and mother of two sons: Curt Gerheiser (Linda) of Hamilton Square, NJ, and Fredrick K. Gerheiser (Valerie) of Gambrills, Maryland. Proud grandmother of Michael Gerheiser (Elizabeth), Michelle Gerheiser, Brian Gerheiser (Cherina), Kyle Gerheiser and Jeffrey Gerheiser (Bonnie) and Ashley Rickenbach (Daniel). Great-grandmother of Lily and Nicholas (Brian), Jacob and Scott (Michael), and Harper and Kendall (Ashley). Dear sister of Rejane, Rene, Claire, and Robert, all deceased.

Born and raised in Ottawa, Canada, Pauline met and married Fred on December 7, 1952 and eventually moved to and resided in Lambertville, NJ for the majority of her adult life. Pauline and Fred embarked on a new journey by moving first to Rehoboth, Delaware, in 1997 and then to Millsboro, Delaware, in 2003.

Pauline thoroughly enjoyed her annual visits to Ottawa, Canada, and to Lac Pemichangan in Quebec, Canada, where she and Fred built a lakefront cottage. She and Fred hosted numerous family reunions at the cottage for her family who lived in and around Ottawa as they all happily enjoyed making the 2-hour trek north from Ottawa to join Pauline and Fred for the annual reunion.

The family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Accent Hospice at Wilmington, DE, Hospital, who provide continuous exceptional care and comfort on a daily basis.

There will be a private family service to be held at a later date at the Fresh Ponds Crematory, Middle Village, NY. In memoriam, donations to Accent Hospice and Pallative Care (www.accentcare.com), American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice in Pauline’s name would be appreciated.
