Peter O. Jamison, Jr, age 84, of Bear, formerly of New Castle, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017.
Pete served in the Navy for 4 years. He and his wife owned and operated Flowers by Jamison for over 30 years before retiring in 2011. Pete was a volunteer Firefighter from the age of 15 at Wilmington Manor Fire Company where he was a former Fire Chief and a member of the fire board. He enjoyed camping in Galeton, Pennsylvania, hunting, woodworking and coaching his son Pete’s Little League Baseball team.
Pete was preceded in death by his father, Peter O. Jamison, Sr; his mother, Marguerite Jamison; and his grandmother who raised him, Elsie Johnson.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Betty Jamison; children, Linda F. Dibble and her husband Douglas, Peter O. Jamison, III and his wife Kim and Sandy Sturgis and her husband Kevin; his grandchildren, Sean Dibble, Seth Dibble, Grace Leveille, Kyle Sturgis, Derek Sturgis, Jordan Sturgis, Nathaniel Jamison, and Clara Jamison; and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services with Military Honors will be on Tuesday, August 22 at 1pm at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701.
