Peter Lasavage

d. July 10, 2023

Peter Joseph Lasavage (Coach), age 65, of Dover, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023.

Peter was a beloved Brother, Teacher, Coach, and mentor to hundreds of young men and women. He never forgot a student, he was constantly in contact with many students just a day or two before his passing. He always had encouragement for each and everyone of them. Some of these young men and women through his guidance become outstanding members of this world today all thanks to his encouragement, love and guidance.

He will be truly missed by his brother Albert W. Lasavage Jr. his wife Chana of Wilmington DE, His loving Aunt Dorothy Bockstahler of SC, Cousin Peter Lasavage and wife of FL His favorite Cousin Fran of PA, and tons of cousins in several states.

He is preceded in death by his parents Albert W. Lasavage Sr, and Catherine Lasavage.

A statement from one of his hundreds of students that pretty much says it all about Coach (Segun Mallard): If you were here you would tell me to suck it up. If you were here you'd tell me get those kids right for the season. If you were here you'd tell me not to let them see you cry. So that what I did. I sucked back the tears, I kept it cool and trained my class today. I did exactly what you would want me to do. I spent my entire life trying to make you proud and now you are gone. You were not just my coach, you were like a father. Not like how a normal players and coaches but like my dad. This pain is to deep. You were the single GREATEST MAN, that has ever lived and I will forever make sure, that I teach everyone that comes into my life the lessons you taught all of us. RIP I love you and will miss you the rest of my life.
