Age 88, of Elkton, MD formerly of Newark, DE, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at home in the presence of his family.
Ralph was retired from Amtrak where he was a railroad car distributor. He was a member of Holy Family Church in Newark and Immaculate Conception Church in Northeast, MD.
Ralph was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, A. Louise Dant on July 6, 2006, a daughter, Donna Louise Dant in 1984, and a grandson, Dylan Dant in 2002. Survivors include his children and their spouses, Stephen Wayne Dant (Sharon) of Colorardo Springs, CO, Mary Jane Gile , of Carmel, NY, Regina K. Dant (Ric Meck) of Mequon, WI, Edward Charles Dant (Donna) of Elkton, MD, Mark Emmett Dant (Mary) of Elkton, MD, Kevin Joseph Dant (Janice) of Middletown, DE, Dennis William Dant (Theresa) of Elkton, MD, Phillip Logan Dant (Velvet) of Elkton, MD, Gregory Vincent Dant (Christina) of Elkton, MD, Keith Christopher Dant (Suzanne) of Lincoln University, PA, ; brother Frank Dant of IN, ; brother-in-law, Grant Wakefield, of IN and sister-in-law and her husband, Rosemary and John Mackell of IN,; 24 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11am on Tuesday, January 12 at Holy Family Church, 15 Gender Road, Newark, DE where visitation will begin at 10am. Burial will be at All Saints Cemetery, Kirkwood HWY, Wilm. DE.
