Raymond "Ray Ray" Reyes, 71, of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024. Born in Kennett Square, he was the son of the late Francisco Reyes and Hilda Reyes.
Raymond was a proud and honored veteran of the U.S. Army. He was known for being full of joy and positivity. Always happy and full of energy, he was the life of any gathering. His infectious spirit and fun-loving personality touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Ray Ray had an unparalleled love for his family and always found a way to make them laugh with his funny rap rhymes and his dancing. If you knew Ray Ray, you knew that his favorite colors were green and black and that he had a love for Puerto Rico and the Puerto Rican flag. He especially enjoyed card games and dominos. He always seemed to have the best of luck.
Raymond was born into a large and united family. He was one of 14 siblings. He is survived by his sisters Anna, Nereida “Nedy”, Margie, Elva, Theresa, Gloria, and Doris Reyes, and his brothers Richard “Papo” and Harry Reyes. He will be deeply missed by his lifelong companion Joyce Mikel and many nieces, nephews, and friends, especially his closest nieces Aida Reyes, Juana “Mickey” Reyes, Stephanie Mia Niño, Alicia Colon, Aliza Reyes, and Jessica Reyes, who were a great source of comfort and support to him throughout his life.
Ray Ray dedicated much of his career to working as a Custodian for the State of Delaware, where he was known for his hard work and dedication. He impacted the lives of many with his kind heart and generosity.
Ray Ray’s legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be remembered for his warmth, his humor, and his smile that lit up every room he entered.
A family and friends service will be held in his honor.
