Regina “Jean/Jeanie/Grammy” Marie Phillips Buckley, 74, of Wilmington, Delaware, left the physical world on January 17th, 2023 surrounded by love. Jean was born July 23rd, 1948 in Philadelphia. She was the daughter of the late John W. Phillips and Regina G. (Conway) Phillips. Jeanie was raised in Glenolden, PA with two brothers and two sisters.
Jean was a devoted Mom to her triplets, Sean Buckley, Erin Buckley (Goulder) and Tom Buckley. She loved being “Grammy” to her grandchildren, Rebecca Buckley, TJ Buckley, Brightly Goulder, and Haven Goulder. She is also survived by her favorite son-in-law, Jeremy (Erin) Goulder, her dear sister and brother-in-law, Eileen and Gene Craft, her precious nieces and nephews along with their loving spouses and children, her wonderful cousins, and her treasured friends.
Regina’s family is comforted knowing she is reunited with loved ones who have previously departed; her parents; her son: Sean Buckley, her brothers: John S. Phillips, Frank Phillips; her sister: Ann Della Polla; her nephew: Tommy Coppick; and her very dear friends: Doris and Stanley Podczasy.
Jean went to Archbishop Prendergast High School and the University of Delaware. She loved learning about anthropology. Besides raising triplets, Regina supported many businesses as an administrative assistant throughout her life at the Pennsylvania Railroad, Dr. Popel’s ophthalmology office, Richardson Park United Methodist Church, and Fiber Clean.
Jean is described by her loved ones as sweet, funny, silly, very stubborn, fiercely loyal, kind and loving. She loved Korean Soap Operas, whales, lime green, and spending time with her kids and grandkids. Jeanie loved the details of one’s stories, including her own and strangers she befriended. She loved spending hours and hours talking to her friends and sisters. Jeanie loved holidays and went above and beyond to make them special! She was a thoughtful and unique gift giver! Jean’s Christmas decoration collection is legendary. A generous audience member, she would laugh loudly, cry easily, and talk to the characters of most shows and films she watched. To her adult children, her reactions often became more entertaining than whatever they were watching. She is deeply missed and loved, now and always.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Gabriel’s Church, 233 Mohawk Ave, Norwood, PA, Saturday, May 13th, 2023. Service: 10am. Interment of Regina and Sean Buckley to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 626 Baily Rd, Yeadon, PA.
