Robert Ford

January 5, 1946 — October 3, 2015

Radar passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2015. He was an Army Veteran, serving in Vietnam. Radar was an EMT for New Castle County beginning in 1972 before retiring in 2003. He was a Lifetime member of Minquas Fire Company for 52 years. He served on the Board of Directors, and was an Ambulance and Rescue Captain.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Diane M. Krapf Ford; his sons, Robert Edward Ford (Jennifer) and Michael John Ford and his sister, Joan Monahan (Michael).

Funeral services will be at 12 Noon on Wednesday, October 7 at PENIEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 115 E. Market St., Newport, where visitation will begin at 11 AM. Burial will be at 11 AM on Thursday, October 8 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, DE. For those wanting to follow the Fire Company procession to the cemetery please meet at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St., Newport at 10 AM Thursday.
