Robert Sanderson, age 74, of Wilmington, DE (formerly of Lookout Mountain, GA and Cedar Rapids, IA) passed away peacefully at home with his wife and daughter at his side, on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.
Rob attended Seminary and earned his Master of Divinity. For 2 years, he pastored a small church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. When Rob and his wife, Laura, moved to Delaware, he started his career as a computer programmer, and then became Controller for Angersteins located in Elsmere. He worked there for 25 years before retiring.
Rob and Laura attended Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in Kemblesville, PA. He had a passion for computers and programming but also enjoyed playing around with the stock market, keeping up with the news, puzzles (especially crossword puzzles, the harder the puzzle the better!).
Rob is survived by his wife of 53 years, Laura Sanderson; daughters, Lisa Sanderson, Kathy Tyler Schmidt and Rebecca Axvig; sister, Judith Eileen Sanderson; and ten grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, in the Fellowship Hall at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, 109 Gypsy Hill Road Landenberg, PA 19350, beginning at 11:00 AM.
