Samuel Robert Dorsey, born August 23, 1946, passed away on October 19, 2021 after a long battle with cancer. He had his loving granddaughter Brooke Dorsey and loving grandson Eric Dorsey by his side.
Sam fought for his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was retired to General Motors after more then 30 years of service.
Sam is survived by his six sons. Samuel Jr. and wife Nancy of Wilmington, DE, Brian and wife Amy of Newark, DE, Chris and wife Sheri of Spring Hill, FL, Timothy and wife Heather of Greenville, DE, Charles (Eric) and wife Melissa of Elkton, MD, Matthew of Newark, DE; his grandchildren, Brooke, Cali, Elyce, Eric, Lauren, Kayleigh, Brianna, Timothy Jr., Abigail, MacKenzie, Jack, Matthew Jr., Landon, and Alexis and his four great grandchildren David, Esme, Apollo and Athena. Sam also leaves behind his sister Ruth Ann. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Pat and granddaughter, Hailey Ann Kay.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday November 3rd at 2pm at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road Bear, DE.
