Age 65, of Newark, DE, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 30, 2010, at her home.
Sandy was born in Wilmington, DE to the late Irene and Melvin Sheperd, Sr. She worked at many places in Newark and Wilmington, most recently at Manhattan Bagel and the restaurant at Christiana Hospital. Sandy enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping, weekend drives and she was a avid fan of NASCAR and the Philadelphia Eagles.
In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her brothers; Buddy and Steven, and two of her children; Tina Marie and John. She is survived by her husband Rick whom she married in 1983, her children; David Barnett, Sr. and his wife Judy, of Newark, DE; Wayne (Rick)Warwick, Jr. and his wife Robin of New London, PA ; and Lisa Holly of Dayton, OH.;13 grandchildren;7 great grandchildren;and 21 nieces and nephews.
Sandy's family would like to thank the staffs at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center and Odyssey Healthcare who helped make a difficult time more bearable.
A celebration of life service will be 1pm on Saturday May 22 at Peniel United Methodist Church. Burial will be private.
